Robbery reported in the 400 block of West Mercury Boulevard
The Hampton Police Division is investigating a recent incident involving a robbery that occurred in the Hampton area.
The incident was reported in the 400 block of West Mercury Boulevard at 7 p.m. Oct. 23.
According to information regarding the incident released by the police division, "The suspect entered the Food Lion, displayed a handgun and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the business, the suspect fled on foot."
Police described the suspect as a black male, approximately 5 foot 11 and weighing 200 pounds. He was reportedly last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and a black coat with blue sleeves, black pants, and a black baseball hat with a white letter “M” on the front. He was also reported to have a black backpack, black gloves and black mask.
