Davis Middle School earns Hampton Green School Award
Davis Middle School received the 2012 Hampton Green School Award from the Hampton Clean City Commission on Oct. 16.
According to a press release, Davis Middle School Chrome and Tums club participants earned the award in part by adopting their school grounds for cleanup and participating in a Tour de Trash of the Bethel Landfill and the Hampton NASA Refuse-Fired Steam Plant.
The award is given to schools for their accomplishments in litter prevention, recycling, beautification, energy and water conservation, environmental stewardship activities and opportunities and integration of environmental education into both classroom and extracurricular activities.
Davis Middle School is at 1435 Todds Land, Hampton.
