Andrews School earns Hampton Green School Award
The Andrews School received the 2012 Hampton Green School Award from the Hampton Clean City Commission on Oct. 16.
According to a press release, the Andrews School earned the award in part by implementing a butterfly garden that involved students, staff and community. The project was supported in part by funds raised through recycling activities.
The award is given to schools for their accomplishments in litter prevention, recycling, beautification, energy and water conservation, environmental stewardship activities and opportunities and integration of environmental education into both classroom and extracurricular activities.
The Andrews School is at 3120 Victoria Blvd., Hampton.
