VDOT announces Hampton roads weekly lane closure forecast

The Virginia Department of Transportation has announced several road closures in the Hampton area.

Crews will be working on both travel lanes of the Highway 168 Bypass starting at 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 17. The work and closures are expected to run until 3 a.m. Wednesday, July 18. The closure will be before the I-464N/Dominion Boulevard interchange and traffic will be diverted to the shoulders.

The Gilmerton Bridge will be undergoing repairs and be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Sunday, July 15 to Thursday, July 19. The closures will be on I-64E from LaSalle Avenue to Rip Rap Road.

The I-64E rehabilitation project that is currently underway is expected to be completed Friday, July 20. Closures are from Oyster Point Road to Hampton Roads Center Parkway.

Bridge work on I-64W between Fourth View Street and Mallory Street will finish Friday, July 20. Until then the section of road is closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
