Virginia State Police investigate highway accident
Virginia State Police are investigating a July 4 single car accident.
The accident occurred on northbound Route 650, south of Route 649 in Southampton County. A pickup truck traveling on Route 650 ran off the road striking a tree, according to a police report.
The vehicle caught on fire, killing the driver. The driver was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, according to the report.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
